Case Study: Huachiew Chalermprakiet University, Thailand

Mahajak talks to Hurrairah bin Sohail about the installation at Huachiew Chalermprakiet University which needed to meet the requirements of a versatile education space.

The Huachiew Chalermprakiet University in Thailand started off as a midwifery school in 1941 when it was founded by the Poh Teck Tung Foundation. Today, the university has grown from one faculty to 13 and is spread across three campuses.

In order to continue providing its students with the best possible education, the university decided to upgrade its facilities. This involved establishing two large multi-function spaces, each of which could accommodate up to 500 students, as well as 38 classrooms of varying sizes and capacity. Huachiew Chalermprakiet University contacted Mahajak to serve as the integrator for the project and see its vision through.

The two multi-function rooms are mirror images of each other and are used for events and student gatherings. The spaces themselves feature JBL CBT200 column speakers and JBL PRX400 portable speakers should additional sound reinforcement be required.

Thunyapat Jintagosonwit, project sales assistant manager at Mahajak, says: “The JBL column speakers are loud enough for the space and we have no coverage issues. The speakers are on a delay and the modelling for the space was done with EASE.”
