Steady progress Features 25/11/2015 Singapore may be a tiny island state in Southeast Asia but it has a big, thriving AV sector. Hurrairah bin Sohail talks to Pave Systems to find out how this mature and developed market is doing.Located close to the equator, Singapore is an island state off the Malay Peninsula. Singapore spans an area of just 718.3km2 and has a population of close to 5.5 million people. Over the years the country has become highly urbanized and is considered a financial, education and tourist hub. In parallel to this, the AV industry has also flourished. Completed last year Singapore Sports Hub is a perfect indicator of the health and standard of the AV industry in the country. Local integrators such as Electronics & Engineering handled the audio systems while Pave delivered the IPTV and digital signage for the venue. The Singapore Sports Hub project has been widely acclaimed to a great example of a modern stadium and sporting venue. Pave Systems was established in 1998 and has been a part of the AV industry in Singapore for over a decade. Jeffrey Lim, managing director for Pave, talks about the state of the AV industry in Singapore: “It would be safe to say that Singapore is a mature market where the AV industry is concerned. The end-users are educated and knowledgeable and have the appetite to undertake large AV projects.†He continues: “The users are also adapting and adopting the latest technologies.
