Smart-e has announced the first product in its Jupiter matrix range: the MDX-8x8+ ‘Io’t that offers web browser support, front panel control and matrix and videowall processing.

In addition to web browser and front panel control, the product can also be operated via IP and RS232 control systems.

The MDX-8x8+ ‘Io’ chassis offers switching and distribution functionality for high resolution HDMI, DVI, HDBaseT and 3G-SDI through a swap in/out modular blade system. Analogue input cards accept RGBHV, YPrPb, Y/C and PAL/NTSC; all of which can be up-scaled to 1080p resolution. It has a 2U 19-in rack mounting chassis and 4-way modular input and output cards cater for a wide range of signal formats.

It is fully HDCP compliant and incorporates enhanced EDID management. It is suited for use in multi-channel signal switching and distribution for commercial, educational and residential settings. The addition of videowall processing support makes it suitable for command and control centres and other centralised solutions.
