Epson now offering Moverio smart glasses to wider audience

Epson’s smart glasses line Moverio has steadily growing its user base. While Google has struggled with its more hyped offering – Google Glass – Epson has been quietly getting down to business. Now, the Japanese manufacturer has launched Moverio BT-35E Smart Glasses to target a wider audience.

Facebook introduces augmented reality ads

Facebook is to test augmented reality advertisements in its News Feed. Michael Kors was the first brand to use AR ads in News Feed, enabling people to try on a pair of sunglasses and make a purchase based on their experience, wll without leaving the Facebook app. Later this summer, Facebook will begin testing AR ads with additional advertisers such as Sephora and others in fashion accessories, cosmetics, furniture, gaming and entertainment.

Logitech has announced the acquisition of Saitek from MadCatz for the price of U$13 million in cash. Logitech has strongly hinted the deal is to help the company move into the virtual reality market. VR is becoming more commercially viable and the move places Logitech in the company of other technology giants such as Google, Facebook and Microsoft.
