Inavate + Absen: Building an LED empire

Linda Chen from Absen gives a rundown of the manufacturer’s proficiency in the LED market and how MicroLED holds the answers for the modern demands and requirements of end users.

Not all LED is created equal and Absen has a stellar record spanning 22 years that proves this. For 12 years running [2009 to 2020], Absen has been ranked number one among Chinese LED exporters and this success has seen it grow to 13 domestic and international subsidiaries, more than 6,000 channel partners and over 16,000 channel engineers spread across the globe.

To continue to remain ahead of the pack, Absen is evolving its approach to the market and pushing the brand forward towards exciting new territories. Linda Chen, general manager of Asia II business at Absen, elaborates: “Considering that LEDs can be used for a wide variety of applications and functions, Absen’s branding will represent the excellence of our LED solutions for specific verticals and applications. The Absen brand will remain as the umbrella for LED solutions meant for DOOH, rental & staging, commercial display, data visualization, conference display and consumer markets. It will be joined by the AbsenLive, Absenicon, and AbsenCP brands.”

AbsenLive comes with the tagline ‘empowering your stage’ and is meant to represent state-of-the-art LED solutions for the rental & staging market as well as virtual production and xR applications. Absenicon represents all-in-one solutions for corporate, education and home theatre applications. Last, AbsenCP is the brand for ready-to-use LED that can be deployed from retail to a variety of indoor applications.

In line with the evolution of Absen’s brand and marketing engagement, the manufacturer is also taking the concerns of modern customers onboard as it moves forward. Environmental considerations have become a priority for Absen and Linda elaborates: “I think going green is something that must be considered and that the time to take steps to protect the environment and make an impact is now. Absen is committed to reducing pollution, emissions and going green in line with regulations and the concerns of our customers.”

And of course, cutting-edge technology remains at the core of what Absen is bringing to the market. Every evolution and development at Absen is geared to provide the market the best possible technology solutions and this is encapsulated in the launch of the MicroLED KLCOB series which is available globally through Absen’s partners.

Absen’s MicroLED products are built upon FlipChip technology which can change the electrical connection of red, green, and blue within a single LED. Absen’s advances made with MicroLEDs also allow for the wire bonding inside the LED chip to be removed leading to lower power consumption while maintaining the brightness levels. Absen has also paid special attention to picture performance and quality resulting in increased contrast ratio as well as richer, more natural colours.

Being first to the market with MicroLED showcases Absen’s understanding of market trends as well as its technical proficiency. Linda concludes: “There are risks with being a first mover but there are also advantages. However, Absen is aware that timing is everything. It would be great to see everyone being an early adopter of MicroLED but we know there will be some with considerations such as the need for production capabilities to further mature and for the technology to be further developed. Absen is working hard to prove that our MicroLED series is the next step for technology. Absen teams, from our factory to our research and development department, are working in tandem to achieve our goals.”
