The AV team at Tennessee’s Pellissippi State Community College in the USA installed 33 AV systems based on Extron IN1606 scaling presentation switchers and MPA 601 amplifiers.
The installation in the newly constructed Bill Haslam Center for Math and Science was managed in just 10 days. The 7,600 sq m building features 18 classrooms, 6 computer labs, 9 science labs, and a teacher education centre.
All rooms have identical AV systems, comprised of a projector, an Extron IN1606 switcher and MPA 601 amplifier. Zoom and Teams software installed on the PC support distance learning. The instructor selects AV content from a PC, a document camera, or a guest laptop via the front panel of the IN1606. Ceiling speakers can be controlled by a volume control knob on the IN1606.
Scott Bell, AV services coordinator at the college worked with his colleague Steve Moore to install the systems. Bell said he only need to provide two to three minutes of instruction to get educators up to speed with the AV systems.
