Digital artist, Jeroen van der Most, has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for day two of ISE 2024, offering insights into the evolving relationship between art and technology.
Van der Most has had art projects commissioned for organisations such as Amnesty International, Nvidia, NH hotels, Sogeti, and Nike – Footlocker. As an early adopter of AI, van der Most’s work explores the creative possibilities of new technologies, where his work has been shown in locations such as ZKM Karlsruhe, CES Las Vegas, Dutch Design Week, Museum De Lakenhal, Centre des Arts Enghien les Bains, Amsterdam KunstRai, and AAF Hong Kong.
As part of the 20th anniversary edition of ISE, van der Most will present his keynote on Wednesday 31 January at 1715 in the ISE Show Floor Theatre in hall four. Van der Most’s presentations blend cutting-edge art technologies, such as AI, quantum computing and NFTs into visual journeys, with the aim of challenging conventional boundaries and inspiring new ways of thinking about the role of creativity in an increasingly interconnected world.
Van der Most’s presentation will incorporate a live performance broadcast at ISE’s newly unveiled south access screen, a 193m2 invisible LED display at the entrance to the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue. The exhibition, titled ‘Bee Barcelona’, will see van der Most construct an AI-based replica of his creative mind, taking the audience on a journey through his thoughts by merging his AI mind with a bee, redesigning and transforming the city of Barcelona into a symbolic hive.
Van der Most commented: "The key motivation for me to work on the bee mind mix is again to step away from 'ordinary' supercharged AI for mere productivity and profit, but to design an AI that’s about being closer to nature, more modesty, and more surprising in finding design ideas."
