In October, the installation loudspeakers of the HK Audio SI series and Vortis 2 went through the annual audit for the EN 54-24 standard. Not only was the compliance of the product quality of the certified loudspeaker series carefully checked, but the company's internal processes were also scrutinised.
The result: no deviations. The auditors praised the consistent approach and confirmed that the products and processes fully meet the strict requirements of the EN54 standard.
Fabian Reimann, HK Audio application support engineer and product manager for installation technology, said: “As early as 2018, we responded to the increasing demands of the market by certifying our products according to EN 54-24. Today, we offer two product families that are approved for voice alarms.
“The certification process is highly demanding, not only technically but also in terms of bureaucracy. An important part of this is the annual audit of our manufacturing facilities, in which our production processes are critically evaluated in detail. However, thanks to our existing ISO 9001 certification, we have always been able to meet the requirements with ease.”
He continued: “This offers users added value in two ways: our EN 54-certified high-performance loudspeakers are not only suitable for music and voice transmission, but also for use in an emergency, such as during evacuations in the event of a fire. The economic advantages, such as lower acquisition and maintenance costs, are obvious. However, in practice, the technical advantages are usually the deciding factor if weight limits can be met or a discussion about sensible loudspeaker positions can be avoided!”
