Microsoft Teams to support 1,000 meeting participants and 20,000 viewers

A blog on the Microsoft website has revealed it will increase the participant limit on Teams 1,000 by the end of the year. It increased the number to 300 in June. View-only presentations will also soon support up to 20,000 viewers in Teams.

On October 28, Microsoft announced Teams daily number of active users surpassed 115 million, an increase of 95 million on 2019.

Other updates include up to 50 simultaneous events per Teams tenant, and up to 16 hours per broadcast.

Microsoft also introduced a new Together Mode for meetings that puts participants in a virtual room together.

Other incoming features include chat bubbles, live reactions and even Cortana voice assistance in the Teams mobile apps.
