Vietnamese TV station selects dnp Zenith screens

Hanoi Radio Television is the official network for Hanoi, Vietnam has installed dnp Zenith screens as a large backdrop display. The installation was handled by Nam Long AV.

The station wanted a screen to act as the backdrop for its news and talk show programmes. The criteria for selection included the fact that the screen had to be free from horizontal and vertical lines. It also had to meet the extreme demands of operating under studio lighting conditions over a period of 18 hours per day. Finally, the system had to be easily relocatable to new studios in the future.

Do Manh Ninh, Director at Nam Long AV, said: “We had demonstrated a diffusion rear projection screen at the Hanoi TV studios some time previously. But the loss of contrast under studio lighting was unacceptable, even with a 15,000 lumens projector.” At the same time, Hanoi TV did not think an LCD video wall would meet their requirements, and considered LED solutions too expensive.

Do Manh Ninh continued: “We suggested a visit to one of our installations at the Vietnamese National Assembly TV station. This featured four 106-in dnp new wide angle screens (16:10) in a dnp Module Building System, with a Sony VPL-FHZ55 projector. Hanoi TV was impressed by what they saw.”

Following the rear projection theme, Nam Long AV went on to install three 106-in dnp Zenith Screens, again in 16:10 aspect ratio, in a dnp Module Building System teamed with a Sony Laser VPL-FHZ700L projector (fitted with VPLL-4011 short focus zoom lens).
