Customer requirements across sectors, particularly corporate and enterprise, are changing. Midwich believes that, to keep pace, technology and technology professionals need to change as well.
We are seeing enterprise and corporate spaces change at the fundamental level. Francis Poh, Southeast Asia general manager at Midwich, says: “The corporate world has definitely evolved and the transformation is spurred on by a desire for connection. Connection between colleagues was missing and there is a real drive to provide avenues to enable this connection. We are seeing accelerated transformation and virtual communication, whether it be meeting rooms or event production facilities, being developed for the remote and hybrid working environments.”
As Poh mentions, new spaces to enable connectivity are being conceptualised and developed for corporate facilities. These require a new approach and mindset when it comes to technology.
Poh pinpoints the addition of event production to corporate spaces as an area where new approaches are making waves. Poh says: “There is an established way of doing events and broadcast and there is a preference for SDI. But this approach might not fit with corporate or fixed install environments. We don’t want to take away the tools professionals prefer. Instead, we want to be able to put tools in their hands that allow them to be creative and do more. This is exactly what NDI does.”
K.E. Ng, channel sales manager at Blonde Robot, sheds further light on how NDI is changing the game: “Through the pandemic, I’ve seen interest in NDI rise and the message is resounding with users from corporate, universities, houses of worship and much more. NDI can serve as a bridge between the events production and fixed installation environment. But the key thing NDI brings to the table is ease of use with lower costs in terms of operation and management allowing it to really be deployed in modern hybrid environments.”
As new technology such as NDI comes to the fore to meet the modern requirements of users across sectors, Midwich is committed to working together with its partners and collaborators to navigate the changing landscape.
Poh details: “As a pure distributor, it is our job to identify the right products, the right systems and then provide our customers the education and support that they need. Moving away from traditional broadcast towards NDI is new and it will require everyone working together to succeed.”
Poh continues: “To further our commitment to our partners, Midwich has established an experience centre in Singapore. We’ve not only got demo units of products from our portfolio, but we are also showcasing how these products can come together in the form of systems and solutions. We’re willing to offer our expertise and assistance with design and virtual drawings. We also encourage our partners to bring their customers down as well so that they too can experience the systems at work.”
Poh believes that everyone has a role to play in the transformation we are experiencing and that Midwich is ready to step up. He concludes: “Moving forward, hybrid is going to be the arrangement. The benefits of a hybrid approach are evident and more importantly it is being requested by the workers. Everyone should be planning a strategy to implement and create hybrid working environments. Whatever direction you choose to achieve this, I am confident that Midwich has the solutions and the expertise to help you on the journey.”
