Exterity selects Intel's E3900 series as next gen encoding platform

Exterity has announced that it has selected Intel’s E3900 series processor for Exterity’s latest HD and 4K hardware encoding platform.

Mike Allan, CTO at Exterity, said that Exterity decided to use the E3900 series, formerly known as Apollo Lake for “its tight integration with other video tools, including Media SDK, which are already used extensively in Exterity’s range of digital signage and hospitality solutions.”

He added: “The new processor enables us to provide a more flexible encoding platform for our customers, supporting a wider range of codecs versus traditional, single codec ASIC solutions. The high performance GPU also allows us to achieve 4K HEVC streams in a highly compact form factor.”

Exterity plans to showcase their end-to-end IP video and digital signage products at ISE 2019, stand 10.K163.

Exterity will take part in the Intel integrated systems networking event on Wednesday February 6 during ISE 2019 and will also show its end-to-end IP video and digital signage products at ISE 2019, stand 10.K163.

ISE runs at the Amsterdam RAI, February 5 to 8, 2019.
