Matrox announces SDI I/O card

Matrox Video unveiled the Matrox DSX LE5 LP 12G card, a multi-channel, low-profile card that provides four reconfigurable 12G/3G/HD-SDI inputs/outputs (I/Os).

This allows the user to set up any SDI I/O configuration with any resolution and can be used with Matrox’s DSX SDK, DSX LE5 LP 12G to build broadcast systems for HD, 4K/UHD, and 8K/UHD2 broadcast workflows.

The SDI I/O versatility supports popular and emerging resolution formats: 12G-SDI, quad-HD-SDI, or quad-sample interleave 3G-SDI for 4K/UHD content or quad 12G-SDI for 8K/UHD2 video. Additional features include built-in frame synchronisers, embedded audio inputs and outputs, and downscaling for input preview purposes.

Matrox uses a unified architecture that is common across all its SDI I/O, ST 2110 NIC, and H.264 codec cards. The DSX SDK supports key functions including file reading/writing, memory management, and a range of file formats, codecs, and effects. A prototyping tool is also available to simulate and test use cases without writing code.
