Biamp will include the Dante protocol within its Tesira platform with the launch of four DSPs in the TesiraForté DAN range at ISE 201.
The launch is part of an effort from Biamp to ease the use of Shure MXA beamforming microphone series within its Tesira universe and comes alongside the inclusion of the Shure product in the Tesira software platform.
“What that really means is there’ll be unique software blocks and a library of technical documentation that talks about the best practices of merging the two platforms,” explained Zach Snook, audio product manager, Biamp Systems.
Speaking to InAVate ahead of the launch, Snook stressed the manufacturer’s continuing commitment to AVB but said Dante support was a big step toward improved interoperability.
“AVB remains still remains Biamp’s backbone media transport network for audio and video,” he noted.
TesiraForté DAN will be displayed at the Biamp booth (3-A75) at ISE 2017, February 7 to 10 at the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre in Amsterdam.
The series included four fixed I/O models – the same models as the original TesiraForté family (AI, CI, TI, and VI) – with the addition of 32x32 channels of audio via the Dante Brooklyn II module. All models are standard with 12 mic/line inputs, eight line outputs, Ethernet control, RS-232, USB audio with up to eight channels of configurable audio, four general purpose I/Os, and an OLED display.
Biamp says the TesiraForté DAN processor can be networked with other TesiraForté DAN units, or with a Tesira Server IO containing a DAN-1 card.
