Lightware improves security in Taurus devices with remote logging update

Lightware has announced a new firmware update for its Taurus product range, introducing a remote system logging tool for enhanced security.

The new security feature is available for the TPX, TPN and UCX products, allowing users to share content, switch hosts and control meeting rooms.

The update allows administrators to simplify visibility into device activity across networks without manually accessing each device individually, simplifying the process of troubleshooting, anomaly detection, and identification of suspicious behaviour. Remote system logging enables Taurus devices to automatically forward system logs to an external, centralised server, such as a SIEM system, in standard syslog formats (RFC3164 or RFC5424), removing the need to store logs locally for easier monitoring, analysis and long-term storage.

The update enables encrypted log transmission using TCP, UDP and TLS network protocols, working with both secure and standard connection types that can be set up with Lightware’s LW3 commands. A GUI will also be added in the future.
