Lightware has announced details of the HDMI-3D-OPT-TX210A, which is a 4K UHD HDMI multimode single fibre extender, expected to be released to the market this Autumn.
The device extends HDMI 1.4 and DVI 1.0 signals with HDCP over one multimode fibre and transmits video signal with embedded audio to a distance of up to 2500 metres.
The model’s RAK subversion also extends RS-232 and USB KVM.
The unit features the proprietary Advanced EDID Management and Pixel Accurate Reclocking Lightware technologies.
Galvanic isolation between source and display helps avoiding ground loops and hum effects. No delay occurs in the signal during optical conversion, the video image is transported without frame latency, which is crucial in 3D applications and systems where audio is processed separately.
To simplify installation and reduce costs these fibre extenders can be directly connected to a Lightware MX or a 25G Hybrid matrix router. The devices can be installed on rack or used standalone, and have a twist-to-lock DC power plug for operational safety.
