Lightware have released a new free-to-download software tool called USB20 1GBe Configurator.
The Windows-based software tool speeds up USB pairings in a range of systems, including the UCX Series, as well as HDMI-TPN, HDMI-OPTN and UBEX-PRO20 devices.
Gergely Vida, CEO of Lightware, commented: “The configurator was created to help both AV and IT professionals pair USB endpoints quickly, automatically discover devices, manage connections consistently, and easily monitor and integrate with control systems.”
Designed specifically for Lightware devices with USB 2.0 over Ethernet capacity, technicians can assign device roles (LEX, REX or BiDi), configure settings, and choose from USB operating modes (Virtual Hub, MSA, or Single Port) in a few clicks.
According to Lightware, the tool’s interface allows for a simplified layout management, with a graphical topology view providing a visual map of how USB devices and hubs are connected.
Moreover, the manufacturer claims that the tool may help prevent IP conflicts and device misconfigurations thanks to DHCP and IP validation providing reliable, conflict-free networks.
Third-party integration is also fully supported due to the built-in REST API, providing direct access to crosspoint control and device status monitoring.
Vida concluded: “We’re committed to developing innovations that actively address the needs of today’s AV professionals. Whether you’re setting up one room or an entire building, the USB20 1GBe Configurator speeds up the configuration process, provides a visual overview of system configuration to aid manual monitoring, and reduces time-consuming troubleshooting. Enhanced automation and quicker setups mean both professionals and end-users alike will benefit from this easy-to-use, yet powerful tool.”
