Korea’s Gimhae waterpark, which is one of the largest in the world and spans across 12,000 square feet, has chosen a solution from Symetrix to handle its audio processing needs.
With a large expanse to cover, multi-zonal capabilities and support for a network based on the Dante media networking technology from Audinate were high among the requirements for any potential solution to be employed at the premises.
The audio configuration designed by Seoul-based system integrator, Soundsolution, not only covers these bases but also provides for the transmission of announcements, background music and emergency messages. Staff is able to control and monitor audio zones and volumes, as well as check on microphone statuses.
Audio processing capability is split across three control rooms. A Symetrix Edge open-architecture Dante-scalable DSP, one xIn 12 and two xOut 12 I/O expanders are housed in the main building. A further Edge unit and a single xIn 12 can be found in the volcano area and a Radius 12x8 open architecture Dante-scalable DSP along with one xOut12 are located in the wavepool control room. Further expansions are planned to help boost redundancy.
Lab.gruppen’s NLB 60E NomadLink bridge and network controller is used to control the amplifier racks in all three control rooms.Taking into account the fact that water-related damage is highly probably,Soundsolution chose Lab.gruppen C28:4 and C48:4 amplifiers, RCF P1108 and P4228 loudspeakers, a large number of Tannoy Di5T and Di6DC loudspeakers, and Beyerdynamic TG-V35DS vocal microphones for the installation’s audio needs.
