Advanced early learning: KIOSC, Australia

Kate Evans explains how the KIOSC teaching facilities employ innovative audio and video systems to keep students engaged and learning.

KIOSC, affiliated with the Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia is a learning space for children aged seven to twelve years of age. Kate Evans, director at KIOSC, explains the objectives of the facilities: “What we provide at KIOSC is a whole range of programmes designed to help students stay connected and work towards a better future career. We focus heavily on science, technology and maths in the context of connecting these subjects to future careers that the students might want to pursue in the future. Because the subjects I mentioned may not be presented in the most exciting manner at schools, we try to spark their interest in these areas at KIOSC.”

In order to achieve its objectives, KIOSC heavily leverages AV solutions on its premises. Integrator Rutledge AV was contracted to deliver audio and visual solutions with the requisite control systems in place. The AV systems were requisitioned to ensure that the two main spaces at KIOSC, namely the ‘discovery theatre’ and the ‘immersion hall’, would be able to function as desired.
