Case study: Ozen Mansion, India

Luxury meets intelligent integration at Kolkata’s Ozen Mansion, where Vallect delivered a seamless AV experience across ballrooms, suites, and boardrooms with a project that topped the Hospitality category at the 2025 Inavate APAC Awards.

In the heart of Kolkata, a city steeped in culture and colonial grandeur, a bold new standard in hospitality has emerged. Ozen Mansion, a 14-floor luxury property designed as a sanctuary of curated experiences, blends heritage with cutting-edge technology in a way few hotels have achieved. Behind its stately façade lies a deeply integrated AV ecosystem, one that landed AV integrator Vallect the award for Best Hospitality Project at the 2025 Inavate APAC Awards.

Working with T2 Consulting, Vallect was tasked with translating the hotel’s visionary brief into a guest experience defined by seamless technology. The result is a property that’s not just AV-enabled but AV-enhanced. Every corner, from the ballroom to the boardroom, benefits from intuitive, high-performance systems that support events, business meetings, immersive dining, and personal relaxation with the same finesse.

From the outset, Ozen Mansion was envisioned not just as a luxury hotel but as a landmark of global sophistication. Its developers wanted every interaction – whether a guest’s first steps into the lobby or a major corporate event in the ballroom – to be supported by robust, invisible technology. For Vallect, the project called for more than installation: it required end-to-end system design, deployment, integration, and training, all tailored to the unique blend of spaces and guest needs across the hotel.

The AV scope extended across ballrooms, banquet halls, a party lawn, boardrooms, meeting rooms, restaurants, presidential suites, and common areas. The systems had to serve a diverse mix of applications – high-profile weddings, intimate dinners, hybrid business meetings, live performances, and multi-zone background music – all while remaining accessible to hotel staff and intuitive for guests.

Events that impress

At the core of the hotel’s events offering are its Ballroom and Banquet Hall, venues that transform effortlessly from business conference mode to celebration central. Here, Vallect deployed a mix of large-format projection and LED display technology. In the ballroom, Panasonic 8,000 and 10,000 lumens laser projectors are ceiling-mounted on motorised lifts and paired with 94-in Grandview motorised screens. These are controlled via AMX SVSI AV-over-IP switching hardware and iPad-based interfaces, enabling dynamic content switching for both live and virtual presentations.

For larger-than-life impact, the Banquet Hall features an Absen 2mm pixel pitch indoor LED videowall, supported by 4K Lumens PTZ cameras and Samsung 24-in signage displays, on tilting display wall mounts, to ensure every guest has a front-row experience.

In both spaces, wired and wireless presentation systems can be accessed via floor and wall interfaces and Kramer Via Go2 devices to support flexible content sharing. Video conferencing capabilities, powered by Logitech hardware with native Microsoft Teams support, futureproof the hotel for hybrid and streamed events. Panasonic IPTV media players support the presentation of pre-loaded content such as welcome videos, schedules or branding.

Even the Party Lawn benefits from robust AV deployment with similar connectivity and control options to the indoor spaces. Here, an Absen 2.9mm outdoor LED wall on a trolley mount ensures visibility in bright daylight, while wireless control and mobile content sharing bring flexibility to large-scale open-air events.

Audio: Subtle, scalable and rich

A standout element of the Ozen Mansion integration is its rich, multilayered audio design. Across restaurants, spas, suites, gyms, and public spaces, Vallect implemented a Dante-based background music (BGM) system. The system is not only capable of delivering tailored ambience to individual zones but also supports hotel-wide synchronisation for special occasions. Users can connect devices through Bluetooth.

For live or amplified events, professional-grade performance is delivered via JBL, Crown, and Allen & Heath audio infrastructure. The ballroom is equipped with JBL column arrays, subwoofers, ceiling speakers, and stage monitors, all routed via BSS Soundweb London DSPs. Sennheiser wireless microphones, a 32-channel digital mixing console, and delegate discussion systems ensure both voice clarity and flexibility.

In the Banquet Hall, wall- mounted JBL loudspeakers, a high-power subwoofer system and Crown amplification cater to high-energy functions.

A 24-channel Soundcraft Performer digital console ensures consistent audio quality, while ceiling speakers provide discreet coverage for background needs.

Out on the lawn, JBL loudspeakers and subs as well as Sennheiser wireless microphones systems ensure live music and speech are delivered without compromise.

Down to business

While opulence and entertainment form the public face of Ozen Mansion, business functionality was equally important. The 15-seat boardroom and meeting room facilities blend polished aesthetics with plug-and-play capability.

The boardroom is equipped with Samsung 75-in interactive displays, Logitech Rally Bar, and flexible audio systems with Logitech Rally Mic Pods and cable cubbies for convenient connectivity. A Crestron Flex conference system powers videoconferencing and supports Microsoft Teams functionality.

Matrix switchers manage signal routing behind the scenes, enabling presenters to share content via HDMI, VGA, wireless devices, or USB-C. Cable management and accessibility features were also prioritised to meet the needs of a diverse user base.

Control without complexity

Controlling this multilayered AV system is no small feat but at Ozen Mansion, it’s designed to feel effortless. Across the hotel, intuitive interfaces – iPads, wall-mounted touch panels, and Crestron and AMX processors – provide staff with access to customised presets and device controls.

In large venues, operators can control video sources, audio levels, lighting, and even motorised screens and projector lifts from a single screen. In smaller spaces, room-specific configurations ensure that staff can activate and adjust systems without needing AV expertise.

Ballroom controls are driven by an AMX NX 3200 processor, while Crestron CP4 units serve the Banquet Hall, Party Lawn, and boardroom. Integration with IP and legacy control protocols (IR, RS-232, relay) ensures wide compatibility across equipment types.

Lighting integration was also part of the package. In the Ballroom and Presidential Suites, Lutron lighting and control systems were deployed with Palladiom keypads and occupancy sensors to enhance guest comfort and operational efficiency.

Behind the scenes

Ozen Mansion’s AV design is underpinned by a sophisticated signal chain. Inputs from guest devices, media players, PTZ cameras, and video conferencing platforms are encoded using AMX AV-over-IP encoders. Video is distributed over a managed network, decoded at each display point, and output to projectors, LED walls, or touch displays depending on the space.

On the audio side, the Dante protocol ensures that signals travel cleanly and efficiently between sources, DSPs, amplifiers, and loudspeakers. Whether it’s a keynote speaker in the Ballroom, live music on the Lawn, or soft jazz in the restaurant, signal flow is intelligently managed to preserve quality and adapt to event demands.

Product choice throughout the project was driven by five key pillars: ease of use, performance, compatibility, budget efficiency, and scalability. “Every component was evaluated for how it would support seamless integration,” explains Vickey Koul, founder, Vallect. “We needed niche hospitality systems that would not only work reliably in their own right but also cooperate across protocols and platforms.”

Vallect prioritised energy- efficient technologies and future-ready designs. All AV systems are built for upgradeability, supporting expansions and new formats as the hotel’s needs evolve. The technology behind Ozen Mansion is invisible by design and that’s exactly what makes it so effective. Guests engage with AV experiences that feel natural, whether they’re joining a hybrid meeting, dancing at a wedding, or relaxing in the spa. Staff, meanwhile, enjoy confidence and control, with intuitive systems that empower them to deliver exceptional service.

“Partnering with Vallect for our AV integration solutions was really critical,” said the MEP team at Ozen Mansion. “Their solutions have not only enhanced the guest experience but also improved our operational efficiency. We now have a seamless, future-ready AV infrastructure that supports everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale corporate events.”

By fusing high-end hospitality with robust AV engineering, Vallect and Ozen Mansion have redefined what’s possible in luxury hotels. This was not a project of off-the-shelf kits or piecemeal upgrades; it was a strategic, experience-led transformation, delivered across dozens of spaces with a unified vision.

The Inavate APAC Awards 2025 win in the Hospitality category recognises not only the scale of this achievement but also the elegance with which it was executed. For anyone seeking to understand what world-class AV integration can bring to the hospitality sector, Ozen Mansion is a benchmark.
