The list of Indian tertiary institutions that have placed their trust in Christie’s display solutions has continued to grow over the past year as they implement or upgrade their AV technologies to better serve the needs of their students and teaching staff.
Altogether, these institutions have selected a significant number of Christie 1DLP laser projectors comprising the HS series, GS series, Captiva series and Inspire series projectors for classrooms and lecture theatres, RGB pure laser projection systems such as the D4K40-RGB and M 4K25 RGB for large auditoriums, as well as LED videowalls and LCD panels for seminar halls.
“Educational institutions are increasingly inspired and convinced by how our high-quality display technology can simplify the user experience to increase student engagement and learning with life-like visuals and uncompromising clarity,” said Rishubh Nayar, sales director for India, Enterprise, Christie. “Thanks to our previous track record in delivering high-performance, versatile and flexible display systems in the education sector, we have seen a significant rise in the usage of our display solutions by numerous tertiary institutions over the last 12 months. Some of them had even leveraged on the home-based learning period during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic last year to install these visual solutions in their premises.”
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), the country’s premier institutions in the field of technology, have equipped its campuses in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh with Christie’s laser projection systems. In particular, the IIT Bhilai campus in Chhattisgarh will have a D4K40-RGB fitted in its main auditorium to deliver high quality visuals, while the IIT Indore campus in Madhya Pradesh installed four large-sized video walls made up of 144 Christie LED tiles with a pixel pitch of 1.8mm for information sharing and digital signage applications.
Several campuses of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), which specialises in business administration, and two colleges of the prestigious National Institute of Technology have chosen Christie’s 1DLP projection systems to achieve their learning objectives. The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), a group of autonomous government public medical universities known for training specialised medical professionals, have also installed a wide range of Christie’s 1DLP and 3DLP projectors in nine major colleges across the country to deliver detail-rich visuals for teaching and advanced research.
The Faridabad campuses of Shiv Nadar University and Amrita University, both of which are private tertiary institutions offering multi-disciplinary teaching and research programs, have selected Christie display solutions to provide their educators with leading edge teaching tools. Shiv Nadar University equipped its classrooms with the HS Series and 75-in LCD panels, while Amrita University adopted the Captiva Series ultra-short throw laser projectors for several classrooms. Additionally, the university will invest in the M 4K25 RGB, a 25,000-lumen, 4K UHD resolution RGB pure laser projector for its auditorium.
Nayar noted that laser projection and direct-view LED technologies are the preferred choices for high-usage environments such as education due to their excellent image quality and colour reproduction, ease of use, installation flexibility, low maintenance, and affordability. “As we move into the post-COVID-19 era, the role of educational institutions becomes all the more important as they align themselves to achieve India’s vision to become a world leader in disciplines such as science and technology to drive greater economic growth,” said Nayar. “The strong demand for our display technologies illustrates these institutions’ resolve to transform the learning environment and enhance the integrity of displayed content from any curriculum.” To provide clients with peace of mind, Nayar added that Christie’s aftersales service and repair centre for projectors and LED tiles in its Bangalore office has a team of highly qualified technicians who can carefully restore equipment to working order, extending the life of the products.
