ENGIE Group has announced that its global services operations will be incorporated into a separate company EQUANS.
On November 6, 2021, ENGIE confirmed it entered into exclusive negotiations with French diversified services company Bouygues for the sale of EQUANS for a valuation of EUR 7.1 billion.
Through the acquisition of EQUANS, Bouygues intends to create a world leader in multi-technical services. The formation of EQUANS aims to enable a focus on providing design, construction and maintenance services that connect, power and protect territories, cities, buildings, facilities and energy and transportation systems.
While EQUANS is headquartered in France, the business in Australia and New Zealand will be led by a local Australian management team, overseeing the company’s local operations.
For customers in Australia and New Zealand the move seeks the creation of more agile, more localised solutions, leveraging the organisations global expertise to add further value in the HVAC, fire, electrical, communications and audio-visual sectors.
Speaking about the launch of EQUANS, ANZ CEO Clive Ross, said: “We are already an established market leader in Australia and New Zealand and the consolidation of the global services business under one unified brand will allow us to deliver even more targeted solutions for our customers. As EQUANS, we are now very well positioned to achieve strong growth in the ANZ region and to support customers in adapting to the energy, digital and industrial transition we are witnessing across our economy.
“The built environment and smart technology are evolving rapidly, and we will be at the forefront of this evolution – delivering cleaner, greener, and more efficient solutions which make commercial sense for our customers.”
