Retail is a challenging environment for displays. With so many different forms of stimuli fighting for the visitor’s attention, displays need to create a significant impact in order to be effective. Norman Lao, vice president, Leyard APAC, weighs in: “Leyard provides a wide range of both standard LED display solutions as well as custom LED solutions that can be used to create maximum impact and deliver the ‘wowfactor’ for retailers.â€
Lao’s statement is backed up by the
deployment of 4mm pixel pitch Leyard LED
tiles at The Prelude – One Bangkok where the
product was selected in part due to its ability
to create an impact. The other consideration
was pixel pitch, which according to Lao
integrators should take into account. He
details: “Leyard provides pixel pitches ranging
from 1.2mm to 4.0mm for retail signage.
Integrators should work with their retail
customers to understand key aspects of
the retail environment, including viewing
distance (what is the minimum, maximum
and optimum distance), ambient lighting
conditions, pixel resolution of content and
any potential limitations of the installation.
This information will determine what the best
Leyard LED display solution is for a particular
installation. The display solution may vary if
there are multiple applications within the
retail environment.”
To make the lives of the integrator easier,
Leyard provides a range of LED products
specifically suited for retail installations.
Lao says: “Our tailored solutions, like the
Leyard CarbonLight CLI Flex, can support
the creation of curved displays in convex
or concave videowalls with pixel pitches
from 1.5mm to 4.0mm. We deploy Leyard
CarbonLight CLI’s unique technology to
manufacture and design these solutions.
And Leyard has many other LED solutions
designed for different application
requirements, like robotic displays, spherical
displays and more.”
Leyard marries its premium products with
unparalleled service. Lao says: “We provide
professional integration, service and support
to our integrator partners including technical
training for installation, terms and conditions,
system or software setting, repair and
maintenance. Leyard provides integrator
partners all of the necessary technical
drawings to ensure a successful installation.
In light of current circumstances, Leyard is
also conducting virtual trainings through
videoconference to ensure that integrators
and partners are able to properly support
their customers even during these
challenging times.”
Looking forward, Leyard knows that
innovation will be required to ensure that the
company’s LED displays continue to be an
effective solution for retail environments. Lao
says: “Leyard will continue to develop new
LED display solutions and LED technology
enhancements for the global market. New
innovations and developments for our
comprehensive portfolio of products will
include 5G and 8K, support for AR/VR and
mini-LED and micro-LED technology. These
developments will not only make Leyard’s
solutions more attractive for the retail sector,
but for a broad range of applications across
other sectors as well.
