PIFA 2023 launches in Singapore

The first-ever Pro Integration Future Asia (PIFA) officially took place at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre from 26th to 28th June 2023.

Organised by Montgomery Events Asia in collaboration with the Professional Audio Visual & Lighting Integration Association of Singapore (AVLIAS), the three-day event saw professionals and experts interested in unified communications and collaboration; digital signage and out-of-home media; production and immersive technologies; parks and attractions; smart homes and buildings; and stage and mega events.

On the main exhibition showground, nearly 100 exhibitors from 13 countries showcased pro AVL products and solutions. Brands such as Samsung, Philips, Absen, Blackmagic Design, Oceanus Media Global were among the many exhibitors at the trade show.

Jackson Yeoh, executive director of AVLIAS, remarked: “You will see a lot of fantastic visual, audio, and lighting displays in the market. I’m sure you will bring back some good memories and experiences from the show.”

The show featured an array of immersive AVL-themed showcases, with XR being a special focus for PIFA. An XR Production Live Showcase was presented by Absen and Oceanus Media Global with attendees getting a chance to witness the technology in action and experience how XR can pave the way for creating seamless virtual events in the world of TV, gaming, and film production.

Nick Tan, chief executive officer of Oceanus Media Global, commented: “I hope that XR is seen not just as a technology but a creative means to bring the virtual, immersive world together with the real world. I hope that this integration can promote sustainability and creativity.”

In general, video solutions stole the show PIFA 2023. Products such as Absen’s KLCOB2, Philips Tableaux and Blackmagic Design’s live production switcher – ATEM Television Studio HD were our hits from the show.

Julian Lim, APAC sales VP at PPDS, commented: “We are most excited to be part of PIFA as Philips is showcasing a lot of new technologies and products. We are truly open to our collaboration partners and end-users’ feedback.”

Remote working and smart meeting rooms in a post-pandemic world were also a focus for PIFA 2023 for reasons that should be obvious to those in AV. Technologies such as Maxhub’s Smart Blackboard B8610 showcased how AV can provide value to users. And there was thought leadership at the show in the form of the Hybrid Workspace Experience presented by AVLIAS and C&R Interiors. The session demonstrated how companies can weave advanced technologies in the modern workplace setup to facilitate collaboration between remote and in-office working methods to enhance productivity.
