Samsung has unveiled the world’s largest 3D-ready cinema LED screen at the Capital Cinema, Beijing, China.
Samsung first announced their LED cinema displays early in 2017, with their first display being launched in Korea and rollout of the screens in Europe, Thailand and China throughout the year.
The Onyx Cinema LED screen is 1.4 times wider than the previous Onyx model, measuring 14 metres in length.
Some fear that LED may push out projection in years to come, but critics of the technology say that the screens may cost ten times as much as laser projectors.
The model installed at Capital Cinema combines 4K resolution, HDR picture quality and a peak brightness of 88fL.
The Onyx is 3D-ready and digital cinema initiatives (DCI).
