Aplus Saigon opened on New Year's Eve with an L-Acoustics L series DJ sound system anchoring its 1,000-capacity dance floor. The installation marks the first L2 deployment in Vietnam and represents the second Aplus venue to partner with L-Acoustics Certified Provider Distributor ProAVL Vietnam, following the brand’s Hanoi location which opened in December 2023.
The Ho Chi Minh City venue scales up both capacity and technical complexity from the 800-capacity Hanoi club, featuring a 3,000 sq ft single room designed around a front-to-back LED panel axis. A central dance floor, layered VIP terraces, and elevated seating create distinct zones while maintaining sight lines to the DJ booth.
The club programs monthly international artists including Argy and Dombresky alongside regional talent, playing tech house, melodic techno, and EDM. Each weekend transforms the space through festival-inspired parties featuring synchronised lighting, visual production, and live performances.
Trung Vo, technical manager at ProAVL Vietnam, said: “The Aplus team wanted iconic, high-quality sound for world-class DJs. Within a compact footprint, high audience density and multiple elevation levels demanded a system capable of delivering high-impact energy while maintaining exceptional clarity and control.”
ProAVL Vietnam used L-Acoustics Soundvision to address the primary design challenge: balancing low frequencies between the front-of-stage area and the back of the room. Working with L-Acoustics application engineers Kim Fai Hep on system tuning and Chung Wah Khiew on system design, the team optimised coverage across the venue's elevation changes and dense audience areas.
The main system features one L2 and one L2D, backed with four KS28 subwoofers per side, providing the low-end foundation essential for electronic music while maintaining clarity across all frequencies. Two A15 Focus and Wide enclosures cover VIP seating positioned behind the DJ booth. DJ monitoring is handled by a pair of A10 Focus speakers per side.
LA7.16, LA12X, and LA4X amplified controllers power the system, with P1 processing and LS10 switches completing the ecosystem.
Vo noted: “Soundvision predictions matched the installed performance closely. The coherent response across the room and smooth frequency transitions give us the headroom for high-SPL electronic music without distortion.”
Since opening, engineers have focused on the system’s ability to push volume while maintaining clarity. The smooth transition between low, mid, and high frequencies delivers the dynamic range electronic music demands without listener fatigue.
Vo concluded: “The L Series installation supports APLUS' long-term vision to meet global sound standards while maintaining local identity. It positions Vietnamese nightlife alongside leading international clubs.”
