CVG Centum City has become the third cinema in South Korea to deploy Christie’s RGB laser projection system. The system has been deployed in the city of Busan at the Starium auditorium.
CGV Centum City comprises eight auditoriums of which the Starium is the premium offering. It is fitted with 381 deluxe seats and a 27m screen. The system installed comprises of a Christie CP42LH 3DLP 4K RGB laser projector connected via fiber optic to a laser rack housing a dozen laser modules that generate white light from a combination of RGB primary colour wavelengths. The system was installed by Christie’s Korean partner, Ray & Resources, and it generates close to 60,000 lumens.
