Post Malone’s concert at Guwahati’s Kanapara Veterinary Grounds on 8 December 2025 marked the artist’s first-ever solo headline performance in India and a notable milestone for the country’s live entertainment sector.
Beyond its cultural impact, the event highlighted India’s growing technical capability to deliver large-scale international touring productions.
The open-air venue presented a significant challenge, with an audience area extending approximately 165 metres in depth and nearly 120 metres in width.
Audio production design and system commissioning were led by Phoenix Networks Global, which was responsible for delivering consistent coverage and musical clarity across the entire site.
“Events like this are milestones — not just for artists and promoters, but for the entire live production ecosystem in India,” said Animesh Mishra, founder director of Phoenix Networks Global.
Following detailed site surveys, Phoenix deployed an all–Meyer Sound system centred around the PANTHER line array. The main PA comprised thirty-six PANTHER cabinets flown as stereo hangs, supported by twenty-four additional PANTHER modules configured as out-fill arrays to extend horizontal coverage. All arrays were precisely angled and time-aligned to function as a single, coherent sound field.
Low-frequency reinforcement was delivered through a dual-layered subwoofer strategy. Twenty-four Meyer Sound LFC-1100 subwoofers were flown in cardioid arrays adjacent to the main PA, complemented by ground-based subwoofer clusters comprising an additional twenty-four LFC-1100 units and six LFC-2100 subwoofers. Front-fill coverage was provided using sixteen Meyer Sound LEOPARD modules and four PANTHER Wide cabinets, ensuring tonal consistency for audiences closest to the stage.
To maintain clarity for the furthest audience positions, two delay towers equipped with eight PANTHER modules each were installed and time-aligned with the main system. System processing was managed via six Meyer Sound GALAXY 816 processors, with MILAN networking and Luminex GigaCore switches providing low-latency, reliable system control.
Post Malone’s touring production arrived with its own DiGiCo Quantum 852 consoles at front-of-house and monitor positions, which were integrated into the wider system architecture. Supporting acts were mixed on DiGiCo Quantum 338 consoles supplied by Phoenix. Wireless requirements were met using Shure Axient Digital systems, alongside Sennheiser in-ear monitoring, ensuring stable RF performance throughout the show.
Reflecting on the approach, Mishra concluded: “A concert of this magnitude left no room for guesswork. Every decision — from system design to deployment and tuning — was made with absolute clarity. Our team approached this show with the mindset that every single person in the audience deserved the same emotional experience, whether they were standing at the barricade or at the very back of the grounds. Our engineers trusted the design, trusted the data, and trusted each other. That’s why we were able to merge such a complex sound deployment into a single, cohesive sonic experience that complemented Post Malone’s performance rather than competing with it.”
