Powerful processors boost Extron presentation switcher capabilities

Extron has upgraded its presentation switchers with quad-core control processors, revealing a number of models that will feature its most powerful processors to date.

New IPCP Q models within the DTP CrossPoint series and IN presentation switcher series feature the new control processors. They deliver significantly enhanced processing power and offer up to four times more memory for increased deployment speeds and improved runtime functionality.

The Extron DTP CrossPoint 4K series are available in 10x8, 8x6, 8x4, and 8x2 sizes. They include 4K inputs and outputs, built-in Extron Vector 4K scaling technology, integrated DTP and XTP signal extension, comprehensive audio DSP capabilities with built-in AEC, an integrated audio power amplifier, and a built-in control processor.

Extron says its DTP2 CrossPoint 82 delivers all the core functionality of a conventional AV system in a single enclosure. It saves rack space, makes it easy to standardise on a common system design throughout a facility, and is suited to environments where equipment space may be limited. The presentation matrix switcher is suited to presentations with content on multiple displays, and for providing a variety of AV system configurations to serve multi-purpose and divisible rooms.

The IN1808 series, eight-input seamless presentation switchers with 18 Gbps support and 4K/60 @ 4:4:4 video scaling feature the Extron-exclusive Vector 4K scaling engine with 30-bit internal video processing. A mix of DisplayPort, HDMI, and DTP2 inputs are provided along with an assignable input loop-through and simultaneous HDMI and DTP2 outputs. These switchers include Extron ProDSP audio processing, seamless video transition effects, and logo keying. The IPCP Q series model includes the most powerful built-in IPCP Pro control processor engineered by Extron. IN1808 presentation switchers are suited to use in meeting rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, and collaboration environments that require support for 4K/60 video.

The IN1608 xi can serve as the central component for audio system integration. It includes eight-input audio switching, two mic/line inputs, HDMI audio embedding and de-embedding, and several audio processing features for mixing, ducking and tone adjustments. IN1608 xi SA models feature a 2 x 50 watt Class D stereo power amplifier, while IN1608 xi MA models include a 100 watt Class D mono power amplifier. The IPCP Q model features powerful control.
