BrightSign showcases Series 3 players

BrightSign will show its Series 3 player range, launched in September 2016, for the first time at ISE 2017 on stand 8-K240.

The seven new players measure under 1-in in height and integrate H.265 (HEVC playback features) and an M.2 interface for Wi-Fi antennae or a solid-state drive (M.2 SSD). The XD and XT product lines offer a hardware accelerated H.265 video decoding engine capable of 4K HDR 10-bit video playback.

BrightAuthor software v4.6 enables a feature on the HD, XD and XT players called Mosaic Mode, which allows lower resolution videos to be played in multiple video zones that add up to the total resolution decoding power of the players video decoder. BrightSign Network, including the new B-Deploy feature, now supports media and player tagging for targeted content distribution to large networks of players.

The seven players span four product lines. At the entry level, the LS423 is a commercial-grade player. The HD223 and HD1023 add an HTML5 engine and GPIO, serial and Gigabit networking. The two XD players offer 4K support and can decode two 1080p60 videos simultaneously. The top line XT players offer the company’s fastest HTML and graphics engine and its most powerful CPU. This technology for enterprise level digital signage installations supports dual video decode of one 4K and one 1080p60 video simultaneously, HDMI input for Live TV pass-through, PoE+ and advanced HTML5 applications and interactive options such as gesture/swipe and WebGL.

ISE 2017 will be held at the Amsterdam RAI, February 7 to 10.
