CYP, an AV distribution manufacturer is to launch AVLC technology and 40 new products at ISE 2018. AVLC (Adaptive Visual Lossless Compression) delivers 4K UHD signals up to 70 metres over a single run of Cat 5e/6/7 cable.
Despite HDBaseT’s 10.2Gbps bandwidth limitation, AVLC can pass the 18Gbps data feeds required for 4K UHD HDMI video sources, up to and including 4K@60Hz (4:4:4, 8-bit), as well as 10/12-bit sources with HDR and Dolby Vision. This is due to compression technology within AVLC, which packages and compresses the 18Gbps data allowing it to pass along the HDBaseT infrastructure and then re-builds it at the display end. AVLC also auto detects the incoming signal’s resolution, colour space and colour depth, and automatically selects the best way to reduce the bandwidth, if any compression is required.
As well as the introduction of AVLC, CYP will be launching 40 new products at ISE 2018. Heavily featuring HDBaseT technology, its range of extenders, matrices and IP offerings will receive a makeover along with the first showing of its new racking system (RAX), designed to safely house multiple transmitters in a 19-in rack system.
Also released will be CYP’s latest display drivers along with new versions of its audio and video products.
