Extron introduces compact HDMI to HDMI scaler

Extron recently introduced the DSC HD-HD which is a HDCP-compliant scaler that converts between HDMI resolutions and frame-rates.

The device is able to accept video input from 480i to 1920 x 1200, 1080p and 2K and provide both upscaling and downscaling to outputs up to 1920 x 1200, including HDTV 1080p/60 and 2K. The product also features an Extron video signal processing unit with 1080i de-interlacing and Deep Color processing capabilities.

In order to make the DSC HD-HD integrator friendly, Extron has also included features such as on-screen display, test patterns and EDID Minder which is responsible for ensuring reliable operation between source and display.

The product is intended for applications that require scaling HDMI video to match the different capabilities and requirements of sources, displays, videoconferencing codecs and other equipment.

The compact form factor of the Extron DSC HD-HD allows for simple integration at a source, destination or in a distribution system. Remote configuration and control are also available via USB.
