FundamentalVR debuts simulated soft tissue features

Medical VR specialist FundamentalVR has announced an update to its Fundamental Surgery platform, adding new soft tissue capabilities to allow surgeons to manipulate and feel the texture of human anatomy during surgery simulations.

The update uses VundamentalVR’s haptic intelligent engine, providing full kinaesthetic force feedback haptics into handheld devices, allowing users to develop muscle memory for surgery applications.

The soft tissue features provide user measurements for each interaction and decision as well as specific metrics including economy of movement, 3D spatial awareness, surgical gaze, respect for tissue and human factors.
