INFOBIT has introduced the iTools G4K, a portable HDMI 2.0 signal generator and display emulator designed for AV installers, field technicians and system testing applications.
Weighing 100g, the compact unit combines signal generation and display emulation in a single device, allowing technicians to test HDMI cables, matrix switchers and multi-display systems without carrying separate diagnostic tools.
In signal generator mode, the iTools G4K supports resolutions including 4K@60Hz with 4:4:4 and 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, 4K@30Hz and 1080p@60Hz. When used as a display emulator, the device can analyse signal presence, including 5V and TMDS, while monitoring HDCP status.
A flexible pigtail design allows users to switch between HDMI male and female connections without additional adapters. A built-in four-pin DIP switch provides direct hardware control over resolution and HDCP settings, with support for HDCP Off, HDCP 1.4 and HDCP 2.2 output profiles.
Four integrated test patterns are provided for checking different HDCP configurations, while onboard LEDs offer visual feedback on signal lock and HDCP synchronisation.
Powered via USB-C at 5V 1A, the iTools G4K can be used with portable power banks, laptops or standard USB power supplies. INFOBIT says the device has a maximum power consumption of 1W, supporting portable use for installation and troubleshooting work.
