New Farm Cinema located in New Farm, an inner-city suburb of Brisbane in Australia has chosen Christie’s solution for its cinemas. The project includes products such as the Christie Solaria series projectors and Christie Vive Audio.
The cineplex consists of six auditoriums that are designed to cater to different client profiles and purposes. New Farm was rebuilt over the course of 18 months and reopened to the public on 1st August 2014. Installation was undertaken by Christie and its Australian partner Edge Digital Technology.
Christie Vive Audio, which was selected to handle audio duties at New Farm, supports formats such as Dolby Atmos, Dolby 7.1 and Dolby 5.1 surround sound. The speakers are armed with ribbon drivers and class D amplification. Specifically for the Purple Room at the cineplex LA1 screen channel speakers, S215 subwoofers, S218 for low frequency effects as well as S115 for corner sound were used.
Visuals at New Farm cinema are provided by a Christie Solria CD2215 equipped with Christie Integrated Media Block and the Christie Solaria One+, which can be found in the Purple Room. Both utilize the latest generation DLP cinema electronics platform.
