Integrate 2023 wrapped up last week and Inavate was in Sydney for the show. The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity to interact with the Australian AV community and discover how the industry is faring.
Australia as an entry point for APAC?
There was a clear trend of new entrants to the Australian AV market. Humly has appointed Madison AV as its distributor and Holoplot has appointed Amber Technologies as its distributor for Australia.
To our knowledge, this marks both brands’ first foray into Asia Pacific.
Add to this the acquisition of Australian integrator, Peace of Mind Technologies, by Convergint and the semblance of a nascent trend begins to present itself. Convergint’s acquisition marks their shift towards AV integration.
AV businesses are beginning to look at Australia as a way to enter Asia Pacific. Inavate will be keeping an eye on the journey of these brands and how they progress in the region.
Global Interest
Australia remains a distributor led market and the major players were at Integrate 2023.
Finding the right channel partner to support your products and solutions in Australia is step one for success. Partnerships will always evolve and change, and a particular move of note was Jands picking up RGBlink to bolster its lineup for events and attractions.
That being said, it looked like global manufacturers are starting to pay direct attention to the Australian market. Visionary Solutions had a stand at Integrate 2023 as well as being present on its partner’s booth. Shure representatives were present on the Jands booth and led education sessions centred on their offering to the market. Neat, whose solutions portfolio seems to be gaining traction, had its own presence.
Ricky Tan, regional sales manager for Southeast Asia at ZeeVee, made the trip to attend Integrate 2023 from Singapore.
There is tech
Integrate 2023 always provides the Australian AV community an opportunity to experience new technology in the flesh, especially for those who did not attend the international AV exhibitions in the year.
We saw a lot of the products that made their debut in Barcelona and Orlando also make appearances in Sydney. Special mention goes to the Sennheiser TC Bar, the Shure MXA902 and the Barco G50.
However, Integrate 2023 also provided a chance to get some more information about products that might be released in the coming months.
Harman Professional had a demo for AMX Muse control platform. We’re under NDA at the moment so all we can say is that it is shaping up to be a platform for all programmers. Expect more news soon though!
