Panasonic to cut 10,000 jobs globally

In a statement released on Friday, Panasonic has announced it is to 'resolve various structural issues', including the loss of 10,000 of its global workforce.

The statement says "This measure targets 10,000 employees (5,000 in Japan and 5,000 overseas) at consolidated companies, and will be implemented mainly in FY3/26, in accordance with the labour laws, rules, and regulations of each country and region."

Panasonic estimates these job losses will cost the company €830m in 'structural reform costs' to action.
