SDVoE Alliance launches design partner training and certification program in time for InfoComm 2018

The SDVoE Alliance has announced its SDVoE design partner program is up and running. The online training and certification recognises experts in the creation of SDVoE systems that take advantage of AV-over-IP scalability, yet offer matrix-switch-like performance.

Created in cooperation with AV consultings HyperSphere Limited and Hewshott International, as well as AV/IT training company Clavia, the goal of the program is to certify designers qualified to offer guidance to integrators, installers and end users in using the SDVoE standard for AV network deployments in education, healthcare, enterprise, entertainment, hospitality, retail, houses of worship, government, military, industry and security.

The list of certified SDVoE designer partners will be published on the SDVoE Alliance website. As the group of design partners grows, their input will be used by the alliance to expand the tools available, including design templates, specifications, and case studies.

“Vendor-backed standards are important in the AV industry,” said Justin Harding, senior IT consultant at Hewshott International. “This training curriculum is well suited as an introduction for AV designers to the simplified AV architectures made possible by the SDVoE standard.”

“With the future of AV being network centric, the importance of the right training is paramount. Therefore, people trained competently to design SDVoE systems, and accredited as such, increase the knowledge base and will provide even faster adoption of this technology that improves AV system performance AND can save cost,” said technology visionary and systems architect Frank Sheehan, CEO of HyperSphere. “SDVoE designs provide more flexible and scalable systems than traditional point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching, while offering additional integrated software features like multi-view capability and video wall support, without added cost and complexity.”
