Yokohama projection mapping points the way to lower power consumption model

A projection mapping show at Yokohama's seafront area saw the majority of electricity come from renewable energy. More than 75% of the event ran on biofuel, made from used Tempura oil.

Projection mapping events are traditionally very power-hungry, as light often has to be projected bright enough to cover great distances.

The installations were spread across Yamashita Park and the Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal, with projections also extending across the wider Minato Mirai district.

Projections on the floor responded to the movements of the crowd, which encouraged use of the waterfront area after dark.
