At an event held at Orchard Central in Singapore, BenQ demonstrated a range of its display and projector solutions targeted at the commercial market. The aim of the demonstration was to show the solutions’ competitive advantage in different sectors.
Chee Fui Chung, director for business management division APAC region for BenQ, presented a brief version of BenQ’s history and its current standings in the worldwide markets. With regards to projector she was keen to stress on the advantages of DLP technology which BenQ employs. Chung identified the corporate and education markets as those good for growth for projectors.
In the demonstration area, BenQ showcased its MX666+ and MH470+ projectors. In conjunction with a dongle and NFC, both projectors can be paired with Android devices and use them as input sources. The feature has been introduced to answer the increasing trend of BYOD in professional AV.
The BenQ RP790 79in interactive projector was also highlighted. With built in annotation software and the ability to support ten points of simultaneous touch depending on the application, the solution is targeted at the education market where it aims to replace traditional blackboards. On the commercial display side, BenQ explained its focus to be on the corporate and retail sectors. The RP840 panel which provides visuals in 4K was shown off with Polycomm videoconferencing to mimic a usage scenario in a corporate environment.
For the retail sector, BenQ highlighted the ST550K panel that comes with a built-in media player and BenQ’s X-Sign content creation software. The panel is targeted at small to medium business owners who may not always have the means to engage professional content creators for their digital signage needs. In such scenarios the built-in media player and X-Sign software allows them to still fully avail the potential of digital signage.
