Martin Audio has appointed Shanghai Univision as a distribution partner in China, expanding its focus on the country’s enterprise AV market.
Shanghai Univision, also known as You Shi Wei Xin, will support the corporate, education and government sectors, working with consultants and integrators on application-specific system design and deployment.
The company joins Martin Audio’s existing distribution partners Sino Huifeng and Guangzhou Guidance. Under the agreement, Shanghai Univision has been appointed sole distributor for Martin Audio’s Wavefront Precision WPS series, Torus 820 constant curvature array and O-Line modular micro line array.
The products are targeted at corporate, commercial and large-scale integrated environments where compact, high-performance loudspeaker systems are required.
Shanghai Univision operates as a specialist AV and IT distributor in China, with headquarters in Shanghai and regional hubs in Beijing and Shenzhen. The company provides pre-sales and after-sales support for complex system deployments.
David Wong, director of sales at Generation AV, Martin Audio’s APAC representative, said: “Shanghai Univision has a proven track record of success in the Enterprise and AV installation market in China. We are excited with our new partnership and look forward to providing our full support to the Univision team.”
Frank Xiao, general manager of Shanghai Univision, said the addition of Martin Audio’s WPS, TORUS 820 and O-Line products would allow the distributor to offer “a more comprehensive total solution to vertical markets across China.”
The partnership was introduced during a customer event in Beijing attended by more than 100 consultants, systems integrators and dealers, and was also presented on the Shanghai Univision booth at Pro Light & Sound Guangzhou.

Dom Harter, managing director of Martin Audio, said: “The technical expertise within the Shanghai Univision team is second to none, and we are confident they will have many successful Martin Audio installations coming soon across China.”
