Bosch announces software update for Praesensa public address system

Bosch has released version 1.50 of its IP-based public address and voice alarm system, Praesensa, adding new user experience features and enhanced connectivity options.

With the new update, designers can directly assign multiple controllers in large networks with subnets, with up to 3,000 networked devices and 10,000 audio zones able to be managed by a total of up to 20 system controllers. Both master controllers and subsystem controllers can be utilised for controller redundancy.

Users can activate push-to-talk (PTT) messages rapidly when the call station is in idle mode, with one push of a button.

All Praesensa network components feature EN 4-16 certification, including the Cisco IE 5000 industrial Ethernet switch which can be used as a backbone switch in larger Praesensa installations.

Both Praesensa PRA-ES8P2S and Cisco IE 5000 switches can be supervised via SNMP for direct fault reporting and can be daisy-chained for improved flexibility in network designs.
