Hurrairah bin Sohail investigates how the Yoido Baptist church in Seoul was able to retain parts of its past by incorporating them into new AV systems.
Yoido Baptist church has been in Seoul, South Korea for approximately 40 years and has around 5,000 members. The church spans two buildings with one being the main area of worship, called the main sanctuary, and the other serving to provide smaller areas of worship along with ancillary spaces for dining, educating and resting.
Two years ago a ?re in the control room of the main sanctuary meant that a large proportion of the AV equipment housed there was destroyed along with the building suffering a degree of damage. After the incident Yoido Baptist church decided to undergo a complete renovation and also decided to upgrade the AV systems to better serve its members.
