Digital Place Solutions details how it managed to design and rig an LED display for Charlestown Square that weighed up to 1,000kg.
Charlestown Square shopping centre in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia is an 88,000 square meter shopping centre providing patrons in the Hunter region with a shopping, dining and entertainment destination. Owned and operated by the GPT Group, Digital Place Solutions was engaged to design and deploy an LED display at the location.
Steve Rubie, director at Digital Place Solutions, says: “The scope was to design, specify and procure a digital display that was capable of being suspended in the Charlestown Square shopping mall glass atrium. The display needed to conform to portrait advertising standard ratios [9x16], be bright enough to operate in a glass atrium, be large enough to create a high impact advertising site, be light enough to be suspended by the existing roof structure without additional structural works, preserve retailer sight lines through inclusion of a rotator and provide an aesthetically low profile.â€
