Cinionic, the Barco, CGS, and ALPD cinema joint venture, has announced an expanded exclusive relationship with South Korean-based exhibitor CJ CGV Cinemas. Under the new agreement, Cinionic will provide a technology mix that includes Barco Alchemy ICMP-X media servers and Barco projection for all new CJ CGV theatres over the next two years.
CJ CGV is currently the largest theatre chain in South Korea and 5th largest multiplex company in the world, with locations in China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkey, Myanmar, and the United States.
Cinionic has been the exclusive provider of cinema projection solutions for CJ CGV since 2018. With this announcement, CJ CGV benefits from the breadth of Cinionic’s technology portfolio.
