National audio upgrades Mount Annan High school

Established in 2003, Mount Annan High School is a co-educational public school in Sydney’s Macarthur region. The NAS Projects Team devised a solution to adequately cover the school's basketball court with a dual-oriented PA system.

At the heart of the solution was the concept of running two ‘modes’ to discretely accommodate both assemblies and performances. Installation was carried out by Primo Electrical, with education supplier Kookaburra Educational Resources helming the project.

Six dBTechnologies Arena 15 loudspeakers hang on opposite walls, powered by three dual-channel InterM V2-5000 1000W amplifiers. The Ashly Protea ne24.24m 12 x 4 digital signal processor manages all six outputs to the Arena 15s, with carefully tuned DSP settings for both Assembly and Performance modes.

Mark de Gruchy, faculty member at Mount Annan High School, says: “We did have speakers in there before but they weren’t very efficient. Now, being able to switch between Performance and Assembly modes is a lot better than what we had. The speakers are pretty clear, and everyone involved in the project had a great work ethic.”
