Microsoft offers first look at 50.5-in Surface Hub 2, on sale in 2019

Microsoft has announced a “more affordable” Surface Hub 2 will offer a 4K+ 50.5-in multitouch display.

The product provides access to Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Whiteboard, Office 365, Windows 10 and the intelligent cloud. It has 4K cameras that rotate with the device, integrated speakers and far field mic arrays as well as the standard Surface 3×2 aspect ratio.

Up to four Surface Hub 2 screens can be tiled together in portrait or landscape view.  Dynamic rotation allows users to select the orientation of the display. Microsoft has worked with Steelcase to create a system of rolling stands and mounts.

Surface Hub 2 offers multi-user sign in to authenticate multiple people in the same Surface Hub 2 workspace, allowing them to simultaneously access documents and ideas and merge them.

Microsoft will begin testing Surface Hub 2 with select commercial customers in 2018 ahead of availability in 2019.
