As Electronics & Engineering [E&E] celebrates its 70th anniversary it has marked the occasion with a key leadership transition.
E&E was founded by the late Goh Kiok Chuan in 1951 and his eldest son Ronald Goh was brought into the family business after pursuing tertiary education. Working closely together they both grew the business locally and regionally with an entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2003, Gary Goh followed in the footsteps of his father and joined the company as a project engineer. He served in various positions before stepping into a senior management role in 2011. Over the 10 years that he served as deputy managing director, he continued to strengthen E&E’s commitment to its customers and pushed new boundaries by expanding E&E’s product portfolio.
As E&E moves into the next phase of its growth it has announced that Ronald Goh will be assuming the role of chairman of the E&E Group of Company while Gary Goh will assume the role of chief executive officer. In addition, Joe Fong assumes the role of chief operations officer and Cynthia Nah has been appointed chief finance officer.
Commenting on the appointments, Ronald Goh said: “This transition in leadership has been years in the making with both Gary and Joe having been appointed deputy managing directors in 2011. Their leadership has been instrumental in both evolving and driving E&E’s growth strategy over the last decade; and with both of them at the helm, I am confident that their combined experience and dedication to the company will help carry E&E into the future and secure its continued success in the years to come. We are also truly fortunate to have a talented team at E&E who have been instrumental in our success over the years, with more than a quarter of our staff having been with us for over 10 years.”
Joe Fong commented: “Having grown from a family business to what we are today, E&E has now become one of the very few AV companies that has been around for 70 years globally. It is our passion that has driven us to where we are today, and this same passion will propel us to the Vision we have set. We are excited about this celebration while taking on a new mission to bring E&E to 80, 90 and 100 years.”
Gary Goh shared: “I am honoured to take on this new leadership role. We are in unprecedented times as we celebrate this momentous milestone. The pandemic has had a big impact on our industry, but our team has stayed dedicated and resilient with the determination that we will emerge stronger than ever before. E&E is built on the values that have shaped us for the past 70 years, and it is these values that will continue to guide us for the years to come. We are thankful to our clients, partners and last but not least, our team for being on this amazing journey with us as we set out on our next lap of the E&E legacy.”
